Following the release of the Average Weekly Earnings Report for 2024 earlier this month, the cap on statutory redundancy payments will increase to £1,000.00 per week with effect from 24 September 2024. In practical terms this means that, subject to an employee having completed a qualifying period of employment of 2 years, should they be made redundant then they are entitled to claim one weeks wages for each completed year of service from their employer, subject to a cap of £1,000 for each weeks wages.
